We met the contractor that was installing our septic system at the property today. They had paperwork that we had to sign and they wanted to meet at the site. We were happy to meet them and came out. We didn’t have it marked on the foundation where the plumbing hole came out of the foundation. We looked at lots of photos of the process and guessed. It took about three and a half hours of digging and prodding to find it! Of course it was under a lump of excess concrete. They figured the depression was left to indicate the exit and one of the concrete vendors thought they did us a favor filling it in with excess concrete at the end of a pour. Its marked below with orange paint. We’re also getting charged an extra $300 to remove this concrete so the septic can be installed.
We also inspected the support posts that had to have the concrete chipped out of them. That is so they can raise them up to level the floor. Brilliant of them to fill it in before checking if the floor was level.
The framing is looking good and it feels like things are moving. We’re hopeful that there are minimal delays and the trades can get in and finish up their work in the next month.
