We didn’t take long to spray paint the walls of the house. Since we’re using the same color for everything to start its simple work. Now we need to protect the walls so we can cut in the ceiling before rolling it with ceiling paint. I was told by a coworker that the only way to do this was with a “3M™ Hand-Masker™ M3000 Dispenser”. We went out to our local hardware store and purchased it. Followed by the cutting blade, the tape, and paper. I tried to use the hand masker to directly apply it to the ceiling crease and it didn’t work. I figured Danelle would get it and just have luck the first time. She also had difficulty. Instead of this process being a slam dunk, it was a little frustrating.
While the tool didn’t work for us to apply directly to the ceiling, we found that you could dispense a reasonable section and just stick it to the wall. Then the other of us could come behind and stick it properly where it needed to go. A quick side note here. I’ve never lived or owned a house with 9 foot ceilings before. The new house has it. That extra foot is a lot to get to from the ground. Instead of using a folding chair as we’ve done in the past, we ended up purchasing a small rolling scaffolding to reach the top. It almost wasn’t enough.
See what that looks like below. Danelle first making pieces and placing on the wall.
This is me moving the scaffolding behind her and applying them to the ceiling where they are needed.
And below is the video of the process for your viewing pleasure.
