Painting the Ceiling – 8/17/2026

Its time to paint the ceiling. The walls are done and the edges are taped. This will be my view until I’m finished.

I started on the massive open living room/kitchen. It was hard to even grid it out due to the size. I tried not to look at my watch so I would not get frustrated at my progress.

Of course once that was done, it was off to a different kind of terror/challenge. Getting up on a ladder and not spilling paint. Sometimes it was a ladder on a ladder. Since it was hard to get to, there was no tape protecting the walls. I just had to free hand it and not get hurt!

I had a bad feeling when I finished and it was confirmed when it dried that I would have to do this again in the form of a second coat. I wouldn’t be able to look at my work and not be frustrated every time. While I did this difficult painting, Danelle was working hard taking the photo below.

All kidding aside, she’s been working hard and needed the break. Add that to the fact that we only had that one light and she needed to wait till I was finished.

Back on the mold front, it wasn’t getting better on its own. We cut out a large section of drywall on the inside of the litter box room. The mold was contained on the surface, but it was still ugly.

If you’re still here and you love painting, watch me do it below.
