We are installing a hidden bookcase door between the house and the apartment. I was inspired at a family function when my uncle Terry showed me one he built during Covid. Since I’m not quite so handy or ambitious, I purchased one. I’ll say the price went up a bunch from when I first saw it until it was time to purchase it. Thanks Mr. Homebuilder for working fast… It came today. They packaged it on a pallet and it has an indicator to tell if its been tipped over too far. This is to ensure higher quality shipping that I’m sure I paid for. It came in a LTL shipment and the driver was very kind. He rolled the pallet jack through my driveway and helped me get it into the garage. I was going to have help, but he arrived over an hour early.
Now we just have to wait until the house is ready and its installed. For now, it stays protected in the box.
Of other interesting things to happen today, Danelle used the riding mower for what I believe is the second time. I put her on the easier section, but there is still a decent learning curve. Just the same, she did the work like a champion while I did other tasks.
And of course, what is a house without setbacks. I was cleaning in the basement bathroom and noticed a lot of junk in one of the lines. I got the shop vacuum out and started cleaning out everything. I got to the bottom and nothing else was coming out. That was strange. I put my hand down there and knew it was bad. There was solid concrete in the hole! Somebody had to purposely block this drain! All I can do is call the builder and get him out to fix it.
At least there is nothing else to report today.
