Flooring And Deliveries – 9/11/2026

Danelle couldn’t make out to the house today. I was alone and waiting for deliveries. Its been a busy few days. Yesterday, we received all of our kitchen cabinets. We got the pallets in the garage and I had yet to move them into the house.

It took a bunch of time to unwrap and clean up the mess, but I needed the space. The flooring was coming today. So unwrapping and moving very heavy boxes into the living room area near the kitchen.

I called the delivery company as they had not provided any updates and learned the approximate time they would show up. Ohh and also it was 4 pallets that weighed a combined 7,300 pounds!!! All I would have to do was get all of this into the house.

The driver didn’t want to walk ahead and check out the road and just listened to me and manually moved the flooring via pallet jack near the driveway. After that, he said he could back the truck down, so here it is in the driveway with the first pallet at the street.

The next 3 were larger than the first. I was very appreciative of him backing in as it all needed to be moved in the house. I started by getting the riding mower and trailer. I was fortunate that the pallet at the street was all the flooring for the basement. I loaded it in and drove it to the basement double doors. It took several trips. On the last circuit of moving boxes, I overloaded and bent my trailer. I was able to finish, but it is going to need some reinforcement welding if I want to continue using it.

For the last 3 pallets, it was time for the grind. I was fortunate that my neighbor Roy came over in the middle and helped move some boxes. He also brought me cold water to drink. It was thankless work moving all of these boxes, but it needed to be done. I did get it all in the house and secured before I called it a day. I was ready for sleep that night with all the work carrying heavy flooring boxes.
