If there is one thing we know about kitchens, they are very expensive. We paid a designer to help sort out the main kitchen and all of the cabinets. However we didn’t think it was worth the money for the apartment. We purchased cabinets from a local store that had cabinets in stock. Here they are placed in the general area where they’ll be installed.
Then we have Danelle installing the cabinets. She watched several instructional videos before starting. She made sure that all of the cabinets were level before first attaching them to the studs. Then she counter sunk screws to put the cabinets into each other. This is what the pros do! She did get a small help from me to hold the upper cabinets in place as she affixed them to studs and then to themselves.
The countertop is ordered. Once it gets here, we’ll have to take multiple measurements before cutting a hole for the sink and one for the 2 burner stovetop. I’m impressed what she’s done. I wonder how many people will be able to tell the difference other than materials on who installed which kitchen.
On a side note, we went through the house today and marked all of the places the drywall is messed up and should be repaired. 47 by our count. Most of the items are small things, but on a new house and with this many things, we want them addressed. Watch the video below if you can’t sleep. It seemed the simplest way to deliver this to the builder.
