My nephew Mark came over for a visit. While his parents talked to Danelle, Mark and I took a walk to the nearby park. I talked and got him to laugh and talk back. He rode on my shoulders and pulled my hair. We didn’t stay too long at the park but it was worth … Continue reading “Park With Mark – 6/5/2016”
Hannah is near the end of her stay for this visit. Danelle was busy with a prior commitment, so I thought I would take her and the kids out for an adventure. We started the day at the Melvin Price Lock and Dam and the associated National Great Rivers Museum. We were hoping to get … Continue reading “More Fun With Hannah – 6/3/2016”
We went to Kansas City to visit my family again. The first site we had was of Henry’s mustang on jack stands in the driveway. This is amusing because Herman’s mustang is also on jack stands in the garage. Seems to be a theme. It is worth noting that Henry’s car was self inflicted as … Continue reading “Kansas City Weekend – 5/27/2016”
Sonora wanted to have a birthday party with her friends. So I took her and three of her friends to the City Museum for her party. So Sonora, Clare, Keann, and Ella are headed into the museum with me. Clare is a bit afraid of heights, so I’ll have to be extra careful with her … Continue reading “Sonora’s Birthday Party – 5/15/2016”

And no birthday for a kid is complete without a present or two! We took a trip to the botanical … Continue reading “Sonora’s Birthday – 5/14/2016”
The summer is starting and I’m trying to get in lots of unicycle miles. I asked Corvin if he wanted to go with me, but he declined. I asked Sonora and to my surprise, she said yes. So we packed a bag for water and headed to the gas station. With gas, Gatorade, and some … Continue reading “Katy Trail Biking with Sonora – 5/8/2016”
I’m trying to get my kids excited about uni-cycling. Its easy to see somebody do it, but much harder to do it yourself. They have seen me do it tons, but I’m now trying to get them to do it. This means that I have to be out there with them to make it happen. … Continue reading “Unicycle Training – 5/7/2016”
Sonora’s Girl Scout troop performs an act every year for the Avery school Razzmatazz talent show. This year, their act was to be dancing ostriches. This was accomplished with a bunch of black lights and custom outfits. The results were much better in person, but quite nice to see. Hogan Haake
Sonora had an orchestra concert today. Here she is in uniform getting ready. She was lucky enough to sit with her friend Ella for the concert. You can tell that they are having a great time together! And focusing on playing her music. Hogan Haake
