December – 2012
December was a good month. I got to spend time with Nathan, who is getting big! And the kids are learning to roller skate. We have taken them a few times to some open skates and they sure get a big kick out of it! Album

I’ve been talking about wanting to paddle while it was snowing for about two years now. Today, I got my first taste. I was snowing good and my boss let me out of work early for new years eve and snow. I called my paddling buddy, Jo Newbold and she was up for a snow … Continue reading “Winter Paddle – 12/31/2012”
My father in law was awarded a Knights of Columbus award for family achievement. We went to watch him receive the award and celebrate with him. Album
My father in law is fascinated with bridges. He can spend hours in Google Earth searching for them. I could think of no better gift to give him on Christmas day, than to take him to see the new I-70 bridge being built in St. Louis. I picked him up in the afternoon and we … Continue reading “Christmas Bridge – 12/25/2012”
Danelle had three pieces in a local art show run by our wonderful neighbor. The evening was a lot of fun, and several people commented on the two-canvas sailboat pinting. The result? She got fourth place of the 33 artists at the event. (Don’t tell anyone, but Corvin voted twice!!)

Eleven days – that is how long I was in Portland, Oregon last spring. A lot can happen in eleven days. Fortunately, not much happened at home – I didn’t miss any baseball games (thanks to two rain outs!) or lost teeth or first dates (that’s a ways off, I think). But I did have … Continue reading “Danelle’s Trip to Portland – April 28 to May 8, 2012”
I’m a bit fan of The People’s band. I have been to two concerts this year and have been taken video. Check them out online and then consider seeing them live! Hogan Haake
Danelle is part of a painting group that meets most weeks. The group occasionally gives out homework and today Danelle is working on hers. On to of that, her mom wanted a few painting photos, so I went overboard as always! Not one to be out of the limelight, I decided to do some “art” … Continue reading “Painting – 12/8/2013”
I love paddling and I work in downtown St. Louis. I started in October of last year and my building overlooks the Mississippi river. I’ve been watching the river level for some time, but its spring and the river is unpredictable. The river has been low all winter, but some weekend storms brought it back … Continue reading “Mississippi Rising – 3/12/2013”
