With the cold weather of winter setting in I find myself not wanting to spend a full day out at the property. I do have a generator to run the heater and a propane heater as well. I don’t like the noise all day of them running. Today, I used my lunch break to drive out to the property. I would work the afternoon there after the sun had done the warming it would do for the day.
When I arrived, it was muddy from recent rain. There were construction workers there so I parked on the street and walked in. I had my backpack, a thermos, and some Taco Bell drive through lunch. As I walked in, my only thought was, “don’t fall in front of the construction workers”. Silly for sure, but still true.
When I got settled in the creepy shed, I first noticed that something is damaging the plastic, but only on one side. It isn’t too bad yet, but I’ll need to do some repair to it.
The back and front porch were each poured today and the finishing process had begun. Here you can see the back porch which is actually the floor for the three season room. It’ll be framed later when the concrete dries.
They were not quite as far along with finishing on the front, but were working as I went up there.
Beyond just the concrete some work had been done on the framing. Most obvious was the windows being cut out in the basement.
Finally, the trusses are spread out on the front lawn. This will allow them to be prepared to put them up on the roof. We still don’t understand what all the pieces are, so it’ll be interested to see how it happens.
I’ve been calling the things to the left “music notes”. I’m not sure how they fit in, but they must have meaning.
A more clear view of the music notes.
One more view from on top of a ladder to see it.
