We’ve been running the Sunset Race for many months/years. Occasionally we change up the format to keep things fresh. Last month we wanted to go downstream to Meramec Marina, but were flooded out. This month was a rematch against a now low river. We had a larger crew than normal with 8 boats.
The paddle was decent going downstream. We knew it was a one way trip tonight as a few of us pre-shuttled cars. We made it to the marina and had an unwanted surprise. The river was so low that the marina was land locked. There was no way by water to get to the marina. Now, its time to portage through the mud.
