The Sunset Race has been going on since December 2008 on the second Thursday of every month. This month, Danelle came out with me. Danelle was able to bring the boat nearby and I was able to get back in the boat. But I needed to wash off my legs as they smelled like the rot of 50 years…
It didn’t take too long before the whole crew showed up for tonight’s paddle.
The Meramec river is very due to lack of rain. This meant that we had to portage to continue upstream due to low water. We would be able to go down in this spot, but there just isn’t enough water to get a full paddle stroke and make progress.
We had many laughs and stores as we enjoyed another fantastic evening on the Meramec.
