My work buddy Kurt came to St. Louis to visit. He lives in Tulsa, OK and works remotely. I suggested he come in and visit. To sweeten the pot, he could stay for free with me. Kurt took up the offer and spent a few days with me. The first night after work, I started him off in the Central West End. There we went to an arcade bar to play some retro games.
After games, I took him to my favorite Cuban restaurant, Havana’s Cuisine. This was a new type of food for Kurt and quite the treat!
Well, I cleaned my plate, but Kurt had delicious leftovers for later!
Kurt got to sit at my desk in the basement and enjoy my shower curtain of our boss, Erwin.
For lunch, we ordered a 28″ pizza. The look on Kurt’s face when I opened it up was priceless.
I got him out to see our property in Alton along with the creepy shed as well. But he appreciated the confluence of the Missouri and Mississippi rivers even more!
Then on Saturday, the main event. Mardi Gras. Kurt and Jeff came out. It was a bit cold, but we dressed warm.
We arrived early enough to see the parade and then stayed a few hours to enjoy people watching in the crowds.
I would have happily stayed a few hours longer walking amongst the people. However Kurt and Jeff were tired. Just the same, a nice excuse to be outside. Maybe next year they will be ready to walk more. I’m glad Kurt came to visit for a few days and enjoy a change of scenery!
