Journey to Argentina, Day 14 – 1/5/2025

Moving day. Controlled chaos to me. I wasn’t in charge, so I just had to follow along. Danelle had the lead as she has made all of the arrangements to date. Our check out time was 10am and our early check in at the other location about 15 minutes away was set at 10:30. I would have had us out of the place much sooner, but she was super chill about it. Corvin and I started taking bags down to the first floor. While Corvin was making a second trip, the cleaning lady showed up. It took Corvin a third trip to go back up and get a key to let her in the front door. Maybe I didn’t mention this already, but the front door was an electric lock and you can’t get in or out without a key fob. Seems like a giant fire risk to me, but this isn’t the USA.

Next piece of the puzzle was getting an Uber to take us nearly 1 mile away to the next place. We were meeting another person for an early check in at 10:30am; normal check in is 3pm. I don’t like people waiting on me, so I prefer to be early and wait for others. Anyway, it was more stress for me and I had to just let it go as I wasn’t in charge. I have mixed feelings about getting to the next place on time. I was happy that we made it (we were even early). A bit sad that I wasn’t right… Danelle is all about the details and I should know better than to doubt her.

We relaxed and claimed rooms, unpacking along the way. Then after a bit decided that we needed lunch. Danelle took us to a Venezuelan place called Tu Arepa for lunch and it was very good. It’s the second place on this trip we have wanted to go back to. I’m confident we’ll eat there again as we were all satisfied. A quick trip to a nearby grocery store and we have supplies for tonight. Now to hang out, do a few loads of laundry, and rest again. Its hard work being on vacation.

Corvin helping to carry the groceries. He enjoyed having deep pockets.

We were really feeling ambitious for dinner time, so we went out of our place and literally next door to Big Pizza to pick up a pizza and empanadas. While we waited for the food, Corvin and Danelle went for a walk to get more steps. Back inside, we settled in to watch the last regular season Kansas City Chiefs game of the year. It was a blowout in the wrong direction, but it wasn’t unexpected as they sat the stars and the team just wasn’t the same. While it was going, we were also playing a phone game that Sonora asked us to download so she could get extra points by referring people. It was addictive enough and the Chiefs were stinking it up. All in all, not horrible.

After the game, we just hung out. Danelle did some work on the laptop. A regular simple and low key day. Here is to hoping we do more tomorrow.
