This morning came fast. We still had packing to do for our trip to Argentina and wanted to prepare the house so it wouldn’t be a complete mess when we got come. By 11:20am we had it all together and took bags out to the car. Ryan was walking up the street just on time to drive us to the airport.
We were 3 hours early per recommendation. We had a single large bag to check at the terminal and brought everything else in backbacks and small suitcases as carry-on. The man working at the Delta counter to check our bag was in a great mood and gladly allowed Corvin to find out what he weighed.
Through the security theater they call TSA, Sonora was a bit upset that the body scan “earned” her a pat down. I got yelled at for coming forward before I was told and had my hat inspected. TSA agents act like we should know the drill. At this point, I was wishing I was driving to Argentina…
We got into the terminal and found some seats to just hang out at. Then we took turns walking through the terminal to get our steps. We all have Garmin watches counting our every step and also all belong to the same monthly competition. We were well over our goal of 10,000 steps for the day before getting onto the plane for Atlanta.
Just before boarding our plane, we found out that we had tickets in the very back of the plane and would have to check all of our bags. So now we had 5 checked bags. I was blessed with a middle seat and did my best to sit still and not get in anybody’s way. Corvin got a window seat that looked out on the engine nacelle, so essentially no view. Less than two hours later, we were off the plane in Atlanta.
We had a long walk to the connecting terminal. Sonora was feeling her motion sickness and didn’t want to take any trains. I think we got close to 5,000 steps between terminals being at the far end of the airport. We didn’t mind the steps. We regrouped to eat some snacks we brought with us and play a few games of Uno together.
Then boarding started for our 10 hour flight to EZE in Buenos Aries, Argentina. It came as no surprise when I was again blessed with a middle seat. Yeah, I wanted a window, but it wasn’t to be. Corvin and Danelle got their own row with Danelle at the window. She offered to switch, but I know she likes the view, too. At least we have little screens built into the seat back that we can use to watch movies or see where we are.
