Corvin is moving up to LaCrosse, WI to live over the summer. We’re sad to have him moving out, but understand as we both did it many years ago. First, we need to get him a bed to sleep on. His room in the rental isn’t big enough for the full size bed he has in his room at home. So off to IKEA.
A few piggy back rides later, we left the store with a large box. We didn’t completely think this through. We had to fold down the back seat and the box came into the front seat.
We rented a U-Haul trailer to get the larger items up to LaCrosse. We made the drive in 2 parts stopping for the night. The rental house was a fairly typical run down college affair. Here are a few shot.
Corvin’s room.
One of the many interesting windows that did get replaced a few months later in the sun room.
A view of the kitchen. This layout will challenge even the best cook due to the lack of counter space and doors opening in the way.
And of course, the shower. I guess it fits 3, but that might get a little weird. (Emily, Austin, Corvin)
No moving in would be complete without a trip to Wal-Mart to get all of the things you forgot or just food provisioning. Luckily, we’re still having fun!
With a cart of goods including lots of food to help Corvin have a nice start, we sadly said goodbye to him. Danelle and I made the most of the first half of the drive home and got some photos at a scenic overlook on top of a bluff. It hardly looks real!
We made it home with no drama. Corvin is settled in and we’re happy to add a little comfort to him!
