On a whim, I wanted to go on a hiking trip with the family. I packed them up and headed for a surprise destination. I had an idea where I wanted to go, but was not telling them. On the way to our initial destination, we encountered The Wabash, Frisco, and Pacific Association. This is a tiny model railroad that operates in Wildwood, MO a few months out of the year. I have heard great things about it and decided to switch our plans to ride the train.
One of the cool things about this railroad is that the engines are actually steam powered. We purchased tickets and got in line, finding out that this was the last weekend the train was open for the year.
It is operated completely by volunteers and was a very cool way to spend a Saturday afternoon! Laughs were had by us all, a great family outing!
