Danelle’s PhD research involved deploying equipment into storm sewers to measure lots of stuff and make the world a better place. Its best to check out her research website cause I’ll just get it wrong! Anyway, time was getting away from her and she needed to get her equipment deployed. So I took a day off of work and got photos of her doing her good work.
If that truck looks familiar, that is because its the one I bought on my Colorado Motorcycle trip! We were fortunate enough to be able to use this truck as her primary research vehicle. All of the expensive equipment is able to be locked away in the boxes and the sand doesn’t get all over the inside of our main vehicles. Who know things would work out this way.
Climbing down to get to work.
Its hard to tell, but there is a rope attached to the bucket. Its the simplest way to lower supplies and heavy bags of sand. When I wasn’t there, they used a step ladder over the holes with the rope to act as a pulley.
Somebody thought that she was knitting in the hole in a previous photo, so we thought we would help them out.
Safety first, yellow vest is also stylish!
Spreading out all of our equipment for a deployment.
Look, a truck! These trucks are part of her research!
