My family and friends may not know this about me, but I love birds. I spent the early morning hours of several days in September looking for all of the amazing birds that are migrating through the St. Louis area. Oh, in case you didn’t figure it out yet, this is Danelle, not Hogan 🙂
Anyway, I spent a few mornings with some old friends and new friends catching birds in special nets so a research team could check their health: size, feather condition, fat reserves (for migration), and muscle tone. Birds are always handled with care and released quickly.
