Monarch-Chesterfield Levee Trail – 1/29/2017

It was super cold outside, but I really wanted to get outside. I thought I would try something new, so I headed to the Monarch-Chesterfield Levee trail. It starts in Chesterfield, MO near the Hardee’s Ice Rink/Taubman Prestige Outlets. Unfortunately for me, It was right around the freezing mark with high winds. Being pigheaded, I rode anyway for about 1 mile before giving up. Additionally I was having trouble mounting “The Big One” and had a bunch of hockey players watching me fail.

I started on the right side of the map with the circle going left for the short windy part of the ride.

Not wanting to give up, I drove to St. Louis Premium outlets just down the highway to ride on the bridge across the river. I decided to take my 29″ unicycle that I was more familiar with for this ride. The Missouri River looked peaceful, but I know how cold it is right now!

On the west side of the river I was too tempted not to ride down and be on the Katy trail for a short bit.

And after this building, I went back to the van to warm up and go home on this short but interesting ride. I’ll be back to this trail!
