If there is something that the kids really look forward to, its the end of the school year. Avery elementary holds a “blacktop ball” every year to celebrate. This consists of the whole school being invited to a party on the blacktop to celebrate the end of the year. The commemorate this event with official shirts. The kids then proceed to sign each other’s shirts with permanent markers. This year, Corvin outdid himself! He use the sharpie to write “kick me” on several shirts and then gave himself some facial hair…
No blacktop ball would be complete without a hula-hoop contest. Corvin is one of the best kids out there, consistently finishing in the last few every year.
May is also about the beginning of summer and the growth of the garden. The first serious harvest came out.
