Fults Prairie is a wonderful place to hike that is approximately 90 minutes from our house in Illinois. Its located near the Mississippi river, but is up on the bluff area. Its been around 10 years since we were last here. Danelle and I wanted to get out of the house and the kids were not super interested in a cold hike.
Its a bit of a rigorous hike up to the top of the hill. Steps for the start, but gradually moving to steep hillside. Its completely worth it for the view once you’re at the top. Once you’re up, its a wonderful walk around the top and via a big loop till you’re back at the beginning. It was a great way to spend time with Danelle and get out of the house!
